How do I make a booking?
MAKE-UP LESSONS
The parent/care giver or swimmer is responsible for marking their absence & booking a make-up lesson. This can only be done via the parent portal.
If you do not mark yourself absent you will not be able to book a make-up.
All absences can be marked no less than 5 hours prior to the lesson. Once you mark yourself absent this cannot be changed.
Make up lessons can only be booked within the same school term of the marked absence.
If a make-up lesson is missed or not book in (same term), this lesson will be forfeited.
6. You can not change the time of a make-up once you have booked it in.
Make up lessons are non-refundable or transferrable.
Make up lessons are subject to program availability. We do not guarantee you will be able to book a make up at a time you desire or that a place will be available.
How long will it take before my child will be able to swim?
Young children learn quickly, however they are just as quick to forget! They need regular revision and practice (at least once a week) to retain skills and to progress. Of course children are unique and learn at their own individual pace. They all plateau (or regress) occasionally. Continue with lessons and stay positive as your child “cements together” its new skills. As your child grows, swimming lessons will also develop and extend. There is no end-point to the process. You are embarking on a journey that begins with water confidence and will lead to a respect for water safety and a love of swimming that will remain for life!
Are parents required to be in the water for lessons?
We teach without parents in the pool. Between 2 and 3 years of age children are more independent and transition away from having parents in the water with them. However, if a child is particularly fearful, it sometimes helps to have a parent in for the first lesson or two.
What kind of nappy does my baby need to wear in the water?
We do not allow children to swim if they are wearing only a disposable swim nappy, as these do not effectively contain any accidents that may occur, and are not adequate in containing leaks.
Toddlers under 3 years old must wear a “Happy Nappy” swim nappy for their lessons.
Just what is this “Happy Nappy”?
A Happy Nappy is a stylish special nappy of light weight neoprene in either a blue or pink variant. It fits over the disposable swimming nappy and is elasticized around the thigh and waist, the purpose being to ensure any “number twos” don’t accidentally escape. It is compulsory for all babies to have this additional layer of protection which prevents any leakage into the pool that can mean a possible pool closure and lots of unhappy clients! If the teacher can see that your child has done a poo during the lesson, you will be asked to change the nappy and re-join the class.
Can I have a trial lesson or taster session?
We don’t offer trial lessons as our classes are generally all full. Our lessons are strictly private and not open to casual visits. If you wish to see lessons in progress, this can usually be arranged by appointment. For more information on our program, please call us.
What happens if my children are sick?
Cancellations due to unavailability will be accepted only by cancellation through parent portal min 5 hours prior the class. Without cancellation you won’t be able to book a make up class.
Make-up lessons must be arranged and take place before the term is completed. Make up class can be ONLY booked through parent portal. Make-up lessons are unable to be carried over to the next swimming term.
It is your responsibly to book a make up class, subject to availability . You can not cancel your booked make up class, you will not be able to get an other one or refund.
